The Future Coin Company and its slots

First Video Slots

The age of video slots marks its beginning from the invention of the first video slot by the Fortune Coin Company in 1975. Walt Fraley invented “The Fortune Coin” video screen game. The video slots were of brand new look with numerous improvements like microchips and random number generators. In general they seemed much better comparing with the electronic slots. Still, there was one thing that players didn’t like and were skeptical about. The thing is, the players got used to mechanic and electric slots as they could see the reels spinning. The video slots had a display with virtual reels. The process didn’t seem clear enough for players, so most of them preferred electronic slots to “The Fortune Coin.” Although slot machine manufacturers spent some time before they accustomed the players, it was worth invested time and money.

The Future Coin Improved

Later in 1978 The Fortune Coin Company was purchased by William Redd, the owner and manager of the International Game Technology. IGT improved “The Fortune Coin” first video slots by adding the multiple pay-lines in 1980. After the Video Slot loyal following was found, the machines started to gain the long-awaited recognition. Within a short time all the casinos were filled with the new Video Slots, which became extremely popular.
