The Stop Skill feature was introduced for the first time back in 1920. There were skill stop buttons on the slot machines produced by legendary Mills Novelty Company, the manufacturer of the well-known “Bells” and the first slots in general. In 1970s in Atlantic City, the State of New Jersey the gambling was legalized. The new gambling law was legislated; it required that players must be able to control the slots’ gaming process in some way. The slots’ production giant Bally Company, in the face of Zacharias Anthony have added skill stop buttons to nearly 50 of Bally’s slot machines. Those buttons were placed near each reel, so the player could stop the reels one by one. Slot machines with skill stop buttons became extremely popular. It was a real “players’ choice”, so the other slots’ companies have immediately followed the Bally’s success.
